TDLI Adjudicator Training Bursary
Help strengthen the future of dance adjudication
TDLI’s bursary is designed to support the growth of stronger, more well-rounded adjudication panels by encouraging qualified dance professionals to step into areas where the industry needs them most.
In disciplines such as Hip Hop and Acro, and in areas where broader gender representation is limited, there is a clear need for more knowledgeable, credible voices in adjudication. In many cases, the issue is not a lack of talent or potential — it is that experienced professionals have not yet prioritized this kind of professional development or taken steps toward adjudicating, even though their perspective and expertise are greatly needed.
This bursary is intended to help bridge that gap by encouraging skilled educators and industry professionals to take the next step.
You may be a strong candidate if you:
have solid training, teaching, and/or professional experience in a discipline where knowledgeable adjudicators are harder to find, such as Hip Hop or Acro
would contribute to stronger gender diversity in adjudication
bring a perspective or area of expertise that would help create more balanced, informed adjudication panels
are ready to invest in your growth and expand your opportunities within the dance industry
value professionalism, integrity, and the responsibility that comes with evaluating young dancers
If this sounds like you, the TDLI Bursary may be a strong next step.
Ready to take the next step?
If you believe your background, expertise, or perspective would strengthen today’s adjudication panels, we invite you to apply.
Selected applicants will receive 50% tuition support toward completion of Master the Art of Adjudication Level One (Foundational Training) and Level Two (Advanced & Personalized Development).
Recipients must register for and complete both levels within one year of receiving bursary approval.
In some cases, opportunities to shadow an adjudication panel may also be available after certification is complete. Shadowing opportunities are not guaranteed and depend on location, scheduling, and event capacity.
